Ground Power Units

The 400 Hertz units provide vital ground power to drive key aircraft systems while an aircraft is parked. With the green energy drive being such an important initiative at all of South Africa’s airports, the use of ground power units is seen as an environmentally friendly option.

Powering The Way

In 2014, together with ITW GSE, formerly known as AXA Power, a division of Illinois Tool Works, the world’s leading supplier of 400Hz ground power units, we installed 10 new ground power units at ORTIA and a further 12 units at the SAA Technical maintenance facility.

Parnis has been responsible for the maintenance of the 400Hz ground power units at ORTIA since 1996.

In 2015, we started maintaining ground power units at KSIA as well increasing our work portfolio and expertise.
