BBBEE and Transformation

For the last 3 years, Parnis was the proud holder of a level 1 B-BBEE certification and was classified as an Empowering Supplier under the 2015 DTI Codes of Good Practice. We however realised that meaningful transformation, including increasing black and female ownership, remains both a moral and a survival imperative for South African businesses. As a result of a process we began in 2016, the level of black shareholding in Parnis recently increased from 55% to 100%. Parnis is a 100% black female owned entity and a level 2 B-BBEE Entity.

Parnis currently provides employment to more than 120 people, of which some 90 percent are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Parnis is actively committed to promoting transformation wherever reasonably possible and, wherever the nature of the work allows, we actively encourage the appointment of women and employees with disabilities. Parnis has adopted a formal Business Charter which includes guidelines on Diversity and Transformation, to guide its initiatives in this regard. Our transformation objectives are driven from the office of the Chairman of Parnis and therefore receive attention at the highest level in the company.
