History

A proudly South African company, Parnis Airport Services (Parnis) has grown its business over the years into large scale projects for the aviation industry, pipeline and integrity systems, and material handling solutions. Although historically our business roots were in engineering, the current business of Parnis is focused largely on airports and airport related projects.

Acknowledging the many benefits of specialisation and long-term partnerships, in early 2015, we resolved to concentrate and focus the business of Parnis primarily on airports and airport related projects.

Parnis has enjoyed a long and productive relationship with the Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) which dates back some 25 years. Parnis has the distinction of being the only South African company to have locally co-designed, manufactured and installed passenger loading bridges. Our first project with ACSA was the manufacture and installation of the 13 passenger loading bridges for the Alpha Apron at ORTIA (then Jan Smuts International) between 1992 and 1994.

Since then we have completed numerous aviation projects ranging from upgrades and maintenance of aviation fuel-hydrant systems, installation and maintenance of baggage handling systems, Visual guidance aircraft docking systems (VDGS) and 400 Hz Ground Power installations and maintenance and installation of the first Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) System, and installation and maintenance of the Hydraulic Road Blockers at OR Tambo International Airport.
